NEUF BRISACH
The view to the right of the Porte de Blase showing the inner wall of the fortress. Many buildings inside the walls of Neuf Brisach were damaged by artillery and air strikes. By Feb. 5, the 7th Regiment had cleared a hospital and factory area to the southeast and the rail line to the Rhine was severed where the 278th Field Artillery Battalion pummeled the bridge.
