JEBSHEIM
Jebsheim, an important German communication center, was attacked by the 254th Regiment and nearly secured by noon of Jan. 27. The French 5 DB armored unit took over, but a reconcentrated German effort in the southern part of the town brought the 254th back for a two-day struggle ending on Jan. 29. The 254th, new to combat, lost 66 men at Jebsheim.
