RIBEAUVILLE

Major General John W. "Iron Mike" O'Daniel at the 3rd Division command post in Ribeauville, France. O'Daniel returned from a stay in the U.S. in early January where he participated in the Sixth War Loan Drive to command the division in the Colmar action. There were a total of eight War Loan Drives beginning in November of 1942 including the Victory Loan Drive at the end of 1945 that raised over $185 million from a U.S. population of 131 million.
