BEYOND MONTELIMAR
Curious onlookers mingle with 3rd Division soldiers where a German rear guard roadblock was overrun north of Montelimar. As VI Corps moved north from the Montelimar area, F.F.I. units reported that Lyon was all but abandoned. Both the German western and southern France armies were streaming toward the Belfort Gap and an intended stand at the Doubs River.
