MONTELIMAR
The 3rd Division took control of Montelimar on August 29, 1944. This view is looking east up the Boulevard Meynot with Hotel Le Relais De L'mpereur on the right. Up Highway 7 to the north, the 36th Division was pushing the German defenders off the hills and setting the stage for a terrifying barrage on the last of the enemy units attempting to pass La Couccurde and the Drome River crossing before the 36th and the 45th Divisions seized the bridge.
