DERBIERE
Soldiers of the 30th Regiment rest in Derbiere at a Shell petrol station during the mop up phase of the battle. Derbiere and La Couccurde sat on Highway 7 where the road to the Condillac Pass started east at the north end of what was called Hill 300. The Montelimar battle square stretched as far east as Crest on the Drome River and Puy-St Martin. Much of the battle was fought by the 36th Division centered around Condillac stretching southwest through Hills 430, 294 and 300 toward Suazet and southeast from Marsanne to the Rubion River where the Germans attacked August 25 and 26.
