SOUTH OF MONTELIMAR
As Marseille fell to French and American control on the southern coast of France, General Truscott was fully committed to stopping the retreating German 19th Army before it crossed the Drome River north of Montelimar. This column of destroyed German vehicles was overrun by the 3rd Division south of Montelimar on Highway 7.
