COLMAR
The Croix de Guerre with Palm was awarded to the 3rd Division and its attached units (a total of 21,353 men) for the action around Colmar, France in support of French II Corps (the attached 254th Regiment waited until 1986 to receive the medal). The 3rd Division took 4,200 prisoners and 22 towns during the 16-day Colmar campaign in what was described as the "best bit of maneuvering on the Western Front".
