Pfc. Steven R. Lakos of the 3rd Division contemplates the enemy in death at Ostheim, France during action in the Colmar Pocket January 1945. As it was overshadowed by the news of the Battle of the Bulge, the equally-heroic Allied action around Colmar became known as the "forgotten war."
