GUEMAR
A 155 mm "Long Tom" in position near Guemar supporting the 3rd Division attack on Jan. 22, 1945. The 28th Infantry Division, known as the "Bloody Bucket" from its devastating action in the Hürtgen Forest, was assigned from the Ardennes to French II Corps and was positioned on the 3rd Division's right flank beyond the 254th Regiment, attached to the 3rd Division.
