SALZBURG
In the salt mine at Ransbach, 1st. Lt. Robert Coultas looks through some of the million printed books hidden by the Nazis. The mine was 2,500 feet below surface and was packed with the books from the Berlin Library that were shipped on 200 railroad cars beginning in mid-1944. Also in the mine were 45 cases of art and 200,000 theatrical costumes.
