FAUCOGNEY
Soldiers of the 3rd Division assembled in Faucogney on September 22, 1944 preparing for an advance north to the Moselle River and Remiremont, The 7th Regiment taking up position to advance the Seventh Army across the Moselle River had captured a bridge intact by surprising German forces attempting to detonate it with 19 cases of explosives.
