PESSANS

At Pessans, soldiers are greeted with a roadside sign. In its drive north, the 3rd Division was supported by the 36th Infantry Division on its left flank and the 45th Infantry Division on its right moving through Grenoble along the Swiss border. Elements of the French Algerian Infantry were in support of the 45th. To the east of the Rhone, the newly arrived 1st French Armored Division was moving north.
