NUREMBERG ZEPPELINFELD
April 24, 1945
The American flag was raised over the Zeppelintribune's Hakenkreuz in Nuremberg on April 22, 1945. Nuremberg was the scene of yearly National Socialist German Workers' Party rallies from 1933-1938. The Zeppelintribune was built by Albert Speer from 1934-1937. Most of this complex still stands today. The four figures below the rostrum are part of the photographers and correspondents assembled for this event.
