BESANCON

At the destroyed Pont Battant bridge 3rd Division troops advanced down a makeshift ramp to the rubble below and then up ladders leading the troops into the northern stretches of Besancon. Engineers had to repair the destroyed span
as well as the water, sewage, electric, and communication links.
