BESANCON
Now a young boy has come to the window threatening a photograph of Vichy Prime Minister Philippe Petain with a knife in a display of anger. Petain was a WWI French hero turned villain when he led the Vichy government for the Nazis in France. He was tried and sentenced to death for treason, however, due to his earlier service to France, he was imprisoned and died there in 1951 at the age of 95.
