LA BOURGONCE

A self-propelled M7 artillery vehicle with a 105-mm howitzer of the 69th Armored Field Artillery Battalion operates near La Bourgonce in the Mortagne Forest as the 3rd Division advances on Nompatelize north of St. Die. As October entered its final week, the fierce fighting in the area claimed many casualties on both sides.
