BOLOZON
At Bolozon, despite Hitler's scorched earth order, the Hydro-electric Cize-Bolozon Dam built in 1931 on the Ain River was captured intact. Tanks of the 3rd Division employed it to cross the river as this picture shows. The Germans had passed through Lyon and Dijon to the west and were headed towards the Belfort Gap.
