AUDIE MURPHY MEDAL CEREMONY

Seventh Army Commander Gen. Alexander Patch talks with Secretary of War Robert P. Patterson (second from left) and members of a U.S. Congressional delegation on June 2, 1945 during the Medal of Honor ceremony for Audie Murphy in Salzburg, Austria. Patch was transferred to the command of the Fourth Army in Texas in Aug, 1945 where he contracted pneumonia and succumbed in November.
