SALZBURG JUNE 2, 1945
AUDIE MURPHY MEDAL CEREMONY
Liaison Officer for the 15th Regiment Lt. John J. Tominac congratulates 20-year-old Lieutenant Audie Murphy after the June 2, 1945 Medal of Honor ceremony in Salzburg. Murphy made 44 films and wrote his autobiography "To Hell and Back" and later starred in the film version released in 1955. Tominac, who served in Korea and Vietnam reaching the rank of Colonel, is one of the five MOH recipients pictured in Nuremberg. He was cited for heroic action at Saulx-de-Vesoul where he was wounded in the course of eliminating 60 enemy soldiers.
