COLMAR
General de Gaulle ordered the pomp and circumstance for a February 20 ceremony in Colmar where awarding the American 3rd Division received the French Croix de Guerre with Palm for its action in the Colmar Pocket. Having been also awarded a Croix de Guerre for action in the Vosges campaign the 3rd Division wears the braided French Fourragere.
