BAD WILDUNGEN, GERMANY 1945/font>
The 3rd Division headquarters' sign displays the division's campaigns with two Croix de Guerres, a Presidential Unit Citation and the Combat Infantry Badge. The division returned to the U.S. in late 1946. From its origins during the First World War and through the Second World War, the Korean War, Kuwait and Iraq, the U.S. 3rd Division ranks as one of the best American fighting units in American military history.
