SIEGSDORF
At Siegsdorf, location of the 3rd Division command post before moving to Salzburg, a convoy is readied to transport Lt. Gen. Foertsch representing Field Marshall Kesselring to the XV Corps headquarters for Kesselring's surrender. The myth of the Bavarian Redoubt was unraveling and Germany's complete surrender, ordered by Hitler's successor, Admiral Donitz, on May 4, 1945 was a few days away.
