OBERSALZBURG - May 1945
A closer look at the north face of the left wing of the Platterhof Hotel reveals damage and the camouflage paint applied to some of the Obersalzberg buildings. The Platterhof was rebuilt by the U.S. Army as the Hotel General Walker and was part of the Recreation Area at Obersalzberg. In 2000, Goringhugl Hill and Bodnerbichl Hill were leveled and by 2010, a massive resort, funded by the Bavarian Government, but now privately owned, is open for business and stretches from where Goring's house was to the location of this building.
