HEPPENHEIM
The 30th Regiment's 2nd Battalion took control of the Kreiskrankenhaus hospital prison at Heppenheim on March 27, 1945. Many 3rd Division soldiers were among the 300 American prisoners liberated there with 800 more prisoners in other hospitals. In this photo is seen left to right, Pfc. Robert L. Crawford, 45th Division; Pfc. Earl K Reed, 45th Division; Pfc. Charles M. Johnson, Company B, 30th Regiment; Pfc. Albert Gallant, 63rd Division; and Pvt. Jolly Pickle, 45th Division.
