MUNICH
A crowd surrounds two 3rd Reconnaissance Troop scout cars in Munich that have stopped for directional information. There was no official surrender of Munich when 3rd Division commander Gen. O'Daniel took control of the city on April 30, the same day Hitler, convinced that Germany's loss was due to cowardice, committed suicide in the depths of a Berlin bunker.
