NUREMBERG ZEPPELINFELD
April 24, 1945
Seventh Army Commander Gen. Alexander "Sandy" Patch and 3rd Division Commander Gen. John W. "Iron Mike" O'Daniel stand on the "Fuhrer's Rostrum" where Hitler addressed rallies of 200,000 faithful Nazis in the expansive Zeppelinfeld Stadium in Nuremberg. Patch awarded the five men in the center foreground with the Medal of Honor during this ceremony on April 22, 1945. The three regiments of the 3rd Division are represented by the 30th Regiment in the field below.
