The American flag is raised to half-mast for President Roosevelt. The division band played the "National Anthem" and "Dogface Soldier". Gen O'Daniel's speech to the assembled rifle platoons from all three 3rd Division regiments included his praise for the victory at Nuremberg: "I congratulate you upon your superior performance...."
