NUREMBERG
A Sherman tank with a 76 mm gun sits among the rubble adjacent to the Laufer Torturm on the eastern side of Nuremberg in the zone of the 30th Regiment's advance. Almost half the city was leveled by 38 air raids during WWII, one of which, on Jan. 2, 1945, dropped 6,000 high explosive bombs and a million incendiary devices.
