OBERTHERES

On April 11, the 3rd Division crossed the Main river for the fourth time east of Schweinfurt near Obertheres. On this footbidge built by Company A of the 10th Engineers, a German Army Medical Service nurse leads a column of German prisoners. The 30th Regiment crossed in assault boats, north to south, near here and the 3rd Battalion crossed the footbridge and turned east toward Wonfort. The following day, the 2nd and 3rd battalions of the 15th Regiment crossed the bridge and passed through the 30th Regiment to attack Bamberg.
