Many horses used for moving artillery and equipment were also victims of the war. Across the road is a 10.5 cm leFH18 light field howitzer overrun by advancing Allied troops in April near Brunn, Germany. This type of howitzer, developed in 1935, was a mainstay of the German army with at least 22,000 manufactured.
