OBERSALZBURG - May 1945
ARC Clubmobile Captain attached to the 3rd Infantry Division Flo Wick is seen adjusting a camera with the east wing of the Platterhof Hotel in the background. Maurita Mayer bought the original chalet in 1877 and opened the Pension Moritz shortly after. It was renamed the Platterhof after her death. This was expanded afterwards by Bormann as a "national people's hotel" although it never really served that way. In 1943, the Platterhof became a military hospital and rest home.
