WORTH
All three of the 3rd Division Regiments crossed the Main River near Worth, 40 miles east of Worms on March 30, 1945. This would be the first of four times the 3rd Division crossed the Main River as it stretched 330 miles in a zigzag pattern from the Rhine River, through Frankfurt, Wurzburg and Bamberg. This photo shows the pontoon bridge in place after the 3rd Division's initial crossing.
