SOUTH OF MONTELIMAR
Several German units were still to the south of Montelimar as the 15th Regiment approached. These included elements of the 198th and 338th divisions along with army and air force administrative personnel, field artillery, and anti-aircraft guns. German traffic through Montelimar improved on August 24, beyond however, the German units moving north faced the long narrow corridor where the 36th Division was struggling to block Highway 7 and two parallel rail lines.
