SOUTH OF MONTELIMAR
The 3rd Division entered Avignon unopposed on August 25 and were ordered on the 26th to join the fight at Montelimar. The 3rd Division's 15th Regiment moved northwest from assembly near Carpentras at 0500 and had forward units 15 miles south of Montelimar at dusk. Resistance was met the next day that finished with the 3rd Division four miles south of the objective on the 27th.
