STRASBOURG

Photographer Bill Toomey reflects over a letter to home from Strasbourg, France in mid-December 1944. The war would not be over by Christmas as the commanders in the north had hoped and the Allied armies had not yet felt the sting of the last German offensive attacks of the war.
