Throughout December, The 3rd Division's "Watch on the Rhine" was mostly monotonous for the 7th and 15th Regiments but had its moments of deadly nighttime contacts. In late December, Facing Kehl in front of the harbor master's office, M2 mortar teams are targeting across the Rhine River.
