The basin of Commerce mortar positions are on the dock right of center in the background. The largest city occupied by the 3rd Division in France, Strasbourg contained several strategic targets identified by Sixth Army Group intelligence included an amphibious motor-vehicle plant and an experimental naval munitions plant.
