MUNICH
The bomb damage in Munich took place mainly during the later stages of the war. There were 74 air raids claiming 6,632 people killed; and 15,800 wounded. Seen here is the ruins of the 70-meter dome of the 1906 Bavarian Ministry of Transport Building at the Central Rail Station in Munich. The dome – once the city's tallest – was part of a large complex and was removed in 1959 due to the extensive bomb damage.
