YELLOW BEACH - BAY OF PAMPELONNE
The 36th Engineers build a path off Yellow Beach. By noon, August 16, 3rd Division assault troops were 20 miles inland. As the breakout continued, 200,000 Seventh Army soldiers from three American divisions, the First French Army and air assault troops passed through the beachhead and the parachute and glider drop zones.
