RED BEACH
A British-operated LCT off Red Beach waits for the green light to head for the beach. For the 3rd Division, it was the fourth amphibious assault; for the 36th, the second; and for the 45th, the third. The invasion force faced 11 German divisions operating in the south of France totalling about 230,000 troops.
