Gen. Patch shakes hands with Gen. O'Daniel after his review of 3rd Division troops in Pozzuoli. O'Daniel assumed command of the 3rd on the Anzio beachhead on Feb. 17, 1944. Patch was assigned to the Seventh Army in the Mediterranean after action in the Pacific.
