NAPLES
Naples in 1944 looking towards Mt. Vesuvius. The 3rd and 45th divisions were ordered to the vicinity of Naples in mid June, followed by the 36th Division on June 24. The harbors around Naples served as the primary harbors for loading the assault forces.
