CARPENTRAS
Looking south up the Rue de la Republique in Carpentras in Place Sainte-Marthe. The short building at center is 64 Rue de la Republique. Spared destruction, Carpentras was abandoned by the Nazis who were scrambling through Montelimar to the north under protection of the 11th Panzer Division and its assembled infantry support.
