	The Hotel de Ville in Avignon. Avignon was the command post for German 19th Army commander Gen. Freidich Wiese at the onset of the invasion. The 3rd Reconnaissance Troop established Allied control in Avignon after the 19th Army deserted the town retreating north up the Rhone River Valley.
