AIX-EN-PROVENCE
Soldiers of the 30th Regiment are welcomed in Aix-en-Provence. After a long fire fight south of the town; challenges from enemy mortars and artillery; and even determined Germans arriving on bicycle from the north, Aix-en-Provence, the most important town in the vicinity, was cleared by 1000 hours on August 21.
