Beyond Cori mobile units of the 30th Regiment were halted for several hours on the afternoon of May 26 by the destruction of several bridges in the wake of the German retreat. Photographer Howard Nickelson captured this image at an overrun enemy mobile artillery position just moments before an unfortunate friendly fire incident by several American fighter aircraft.
