CORI

The town of Cori (the ancient Cora) was perched on Monte Lipini's downslope at an elevation of 1,267 feet where the Germans had a clear view over the Anzio beachhead. Cori was captured by the 30th Regiment the same day as Cisterna (late afternoon on May 25, 1944) and with it came the complete collapse of all enemy resistance facing the breakout force of the 3rd Division and the 1st Armored Division.
