BESANCON
A group of F.F.I. fighters in Besancon in salute. The lineup is at the right corner of the city hall in Place du Septembre. Besancon was occupied by German forces since June 16, 1940. The liberation left more than 60 dead Free French forces, 80 American soldiers and 50 civilians. The German occupiers suffered 250 dead.
