BROUVELIEURES
German artillery took a toll on Brouvelieures, France. The initial attacks there were opposed by the German 16th Infantry Division. It was near here in Bruyeres that the highly-decorated 442nd Japanese-American Regimental Combat Team, newly attached to the 36th Division, fought for and liberated Bruyeres and performed its rescue of the 36th Division's "lost battalion".
